Nearly five months into my journey at Sky Portugal, I can already feel the same excitement and drive to build something big that I did in my previous experience, both in myself and in those around me.

At OutSystems, I had the opportunity to collaborate with amazing people worldwide. I developed a user-centric mindset during my early years building the low-code platform. I later transitioned into working on the OutSystems Developer Cloud, diving deeper into cloud infrastructure and architecture.

Exactly six years after starting at OutSystems, I joined Sky, embracing a new set of backend challenges. Scalability plays a key role in such a large platform, which means there's plenty of learning ahead! It’s exciting to face fresh challenges while also seeing different solutions to familiar problems.

After many years working on the server side, I still try to keep alive the user-centric mindset from those early days. For instance, I like to put myself in the user’s shoes — or rather, on the couch — which is why I lately kick back and watch The Day of the Jackal on SkyShowtime 😛!

Working at Sky is especially meaningful because many of the classics I grew up with were produced by Universal and DreamWorks, which, along with Sky, are part of the larger Comcast family.

New challenges continue to arise. I’ve already learned a lot in these five months, and I'm excited to keep pushing boundaries and contributing to technology that helps millions enjoy their favorite shows and movies every day!
